The bomb squad was called to the Licht Judicial Complex in Providence after a suspicious package was found on Tuesday.
The complex was evacuated at around 10 a.m. and an unattended suitcase was detonated out of an abundance of caution.
Police say the suitcase contained clothing and there was no threat to public safety.
Jury trials were put on hold until the all-clear was given and some hearings had to be rescheduled.
