Residents of a condo development in Orlando, Florida, have had it with dog owners not cleaning up after their pooches, so they're calling in the dog poop CSI.
The company that owns the condo plans to use DNA testing to track the disregarded doo-doo to the dog owner that left it there. Here's how it works: Someone will get saliva samples from all the dogs in the development and send them to a lab, where the properties of the DNA will be recorded. That DNA will then be tested against a sample of the dog's poop.
They plan to launch the testing phase of the plan next month, and if all goes well, will use the technology to fine the culprit $100 per offense.
