NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has announced its lineup for 2013, with top names including Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, the Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, the Black Keys, John Mayer, Widespread Panic and Daryl Hall & John Oates.
The festival takes place April 26-28 and May 2-5. The initial advance price for adult single-day tickets is $45, which will increase to $50 on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The price at the gate will be $65 per day. Adult tickets are available through Ticketmaster; tickets for children ages 2-10 are $5, available only at the gate. A variety of VIP packages also are available.
In keeping with tradition, the festival mixes pop headliners with a huge slate of artists in traditional genres including jazz, R&B, gospel, blues, Cajun, zydeco. Other notable names booked for this year’s fest include B.B. King, Frank Ocean, Earth, Wind & Fire, Willie Nelson, Little Big Town, George Benson, Jill Scott, Jimmy Cliff, Gipsy Kings, Jeffrey Osborne, Patti Smith, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Band of Horses, Gary Clark Jr., Andrew Bird, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Juan Luis Guerra y 440, Los Lobos, The Little Willies.
The extensive cast of Louisiana artists includes Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Aaron Neville, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Pete Fountain, The Nevilles, Rebirth Brass Band, Galactic, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Better Than Ezra, The Meter Men with Page McConnell, Kermit Ruffins & the Barbecue Swingers, 35th Anniversary of "One Mo' Time!", Marc Broussard, Chris Owens, Amanda Shaw, Papa Grows Funk, Cowboy Mouth, The Dixie Cups, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, Theresa Andersson, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Jon Cleary, John Boutté, Sonny Landreth, Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
