A dog that could only move by shuffling on his belly is now able to walk, run, swim and jump thanks to a set of prosthetic limbs.
It's a story that first made the news two years ago, but got some viral shelf liek after British tabloids decided to run the story.
The dog was abandoned in a foreclosed home and lost all four limbs to frostbite after being found as a pup, frozen in a puddle. Found by veterinary assistant Christie Pace, she raised money through a local fundraiser to outfit the pooch with a set of prosthetics that, bizarre as they look, do the trick. Their base is made of mountain bike tires.
Each prosthetic can cost up to three grand.
OrthoPets, the company that provided the false legs, decided to do his front paws free of charge. Their facebook page has plenty of videos of other animals benefitting from prosthetic limbs, including sheep, horses and ponies.
Naki'o is the only dog to have four prosthetic limbs.
